The Philippines is an archipelago of 7107 islands and islets. With so many islands there is a huge range of opportunities for diving and snorkeling. Dauin has world class ‘muck’ diving (critters, critters, critters –read the attached review), and day trips to dive around the Marine Protected Apo Island for amazing reefs and their inhabitants. You can also dive on a site where there is volcanic gases bubbling up through the sand!!
Be prepared to see numerous turtles, seahorses, frogfish and nudis along with the usual fishy reef inhabitants. From the walls and reefs of the Marine protected Apo Island, the invertebrates, fishes, hard & soft corals, turtles, octopus, cuttlefish, rays, and sharks on the coastline, to the Whalesharks at Oslob and mindblowing wall and reef dives at Anda. Whether you are a novice or experienced diver, you will be sure to find some new and exciting species here.
Philippines is a great destination for Divers and non-divers alike. Both resorts have plenty to do on non dive days or for non divers.
This trip is suited for divers qualified as Open Water and above. Enriched Air Nitrox package is available for divers certified with Enriched Air Nitrox. We will be running all the courses you may require throughout the year, so you have plenty of time to get the training and experience.

REVIEW
Philippines 2018
2 flights & an interesting ride through the suburbs of Dumaguette is all worth it! The resort is lovely. From the beach, paths meander into lush tropical gardens & pools. Guests have their own hammocks & couches for relaxing and there is an onsite Spa! The dive centre has plenty of room, and for photographers there is a separate cameraroom. The check out dive is camera free so you can show the guides you dive responsibly, a great way to get your eye in too with ghostpipefish, seahorses, nudis, cuttlefish, & heaps of camouflage crabs. Damn I wish I had my camera! Tomorrow I've been promised 3 amazing dives at Apo Islands coral reefs. I spent the last hour or so swaying in my hammock, watching the sunset over the bay with a lightening show on the horizon & small bats circling through the palm trees. I think I’ll just have one cocktail with dinner and an early night.
Apo-means grandchild. The volcano behind us on the main island is the grandparent :) The first 2 dives at Apo are nice. Reef tops at 5-10 meters dropping to walls. Massive schools of fish are found on the seaward side. We had a turtle or 2 and a huge octopus. The highlight was an encounter with a banded seasnake. He was fossicking in the reef and happy to pose for photographs. Dive 3 -WOW Reef bommies & sand gullies descend to a sand rubble slope. There is a wall of fizzing volcanic bubbles and the whole sea floor is covered in skeleton shrimp -like watching an extraterrestrial battle. Hang a right after the bubbles, up a short wall onto the reef which is beautiful, healthy and covered with hard & soft corals -here is our promised amazing dive. Corals, critters and fish.
Muck diving. I've been told it rivals Lembeh -that seems rather ambitious. Challenge accepted! There are blooms of different species throughout the year and now it's the Ghostpipefishes turn -Robust, Roughsnout, Ornate -they're all here in generous numbers. Our second site is made up of donated bus tyre pyramids. About 50 sets of them make a unique artificial reef. They are now home to many fish, sponges, shrimp and corals. The third site is different again, with a vast sea grass meadow at 5m. There is a steep slope with more ghostpipefish, nudis, seamouses, seahorses, frogfish, shrimp, pipehorses, crabs, urchins etc etc. Challenge met!
