Australia Cave Trip

Mount Gambier has some of the most spectacular cave and cavern diving in the world. The crystal-clear fresh waters make it feel as though you are effortlessly floating through space.

This is an exclusive Global Dive trip in conjunction with our friends at Dive Experience, based in Mt Gambier. Just a single short flight from Auckland with only 2 hours time difference, makes for an easy trip with minimal disruption to your busy schedule.

Are you a bit of an adventurer? Like exploring? Felt the urge to venture into overhead environments? Or simply just want to increase your skills to the next level? Then the Basic Cave course is for you!!

Already a cave diver? Come and join us for a spectacular week exploring some of Mount Gambier’s finest caves.

We start the trip in Melbourne where we rent cars to drive to Mount Gambier (approx 5 hours) - the cave diving capital of Australia. We stay for 8 nights, and dive for 7 days before transferring back to Melbourne where we spend the night in the city before flying back to Auckland the following day.

REVIEW

Review of 2019 trip by Andrew Simpson.

I had previously not been too interested in cave diving, but after several OZTEK conferences and banter from cave diving mates, I decided to give it a go, along with 3 of my dive buddies.  Anyone who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks is simply wrong when it comes to diving.

All 4 of us on the course were very experienced rebreather divers, yet we all thoroughly enjoyed the course. the diving and the whole experience.  This course is a must for anyone wanting to up skill, no matter what your current cert level.  We did it on rebreathers for the extra challenge, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this in future. I'm 100% convinced that sidemount is the tool for this type of diving, so I am looking forward to our next trip, to pull out the XDeep Stealth and hone those sidemount skills.

For divers who are already certified, this trip will be a great way to build up your cave hours, ahead of future courses.
