Stress & Rescue Diver

Diver stress and anxiety is a major cause of diving accidents, but it can easily be prevented and resolved. By completing a Stress & Rescue course you will learn how to help yourself and other divers stay safe.

The Stress & Rescue course can be one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding courses. As you learn to expand your perception, you learn to prevent and manage problems before you even hit the water. You will become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed, by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Although this course is serious, it’s also an enjoyable and fun way to build your confidence.

What will you learn?

You will learn how to identify stress, how to prevent accidents and be taught practical techniques to conduct rescues and provide emergency care. Using a combination of pool and open water practice sessions, you will become well prepared and confident at handling emergency and rescue situations.

Topics include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

What scuba gear will you use?

For the stress & rescue course your standard scuba equipment will remain the same with a few extras, that in an emergency, will make a big difference. Having two signaling devices such as a whistle and/or safety sausage, dive knife capable of cutting webbing, and a compass. You will learn how to use a pocket mask to practice in-water resuscitation. During the scenarios you will practice using marker buoys, reels and floats as well as oxygen units - rescues often don't end once you have a diver out of the water.

Your instructor will go through equipment with you and will suggest gear which will be useful even after the course has finished.

Note: We have packages for knife, compass, signaling device and pocket mask for students enrolled on this course.

TESTIMONIALS

Hello!!

I hope you and the whole global dive team are doing really well!

I'm just in Okinawa (of all places!) finally doing my Divemaster. We started an open water course yesterday and it brought back memories of my course. I just wanted to say how absolutely amazing you were through all my courses, but especially my open water. I still think of how you would approach a situation when ever some one asks me a question or something happens and I haven't found a dive centre or instructors as good as you! I really appreciate all the effort and genuine enthusiasm you both put into my training and making diving such an awesome experience.

I can't wait to come back and dive with you guys and I am definately going to wait to do my instructors with you so I can be taught by the best!

Buenos dias guys!

Hey, just wanted to drop a couple of lines saying thanks to you all and specially Anna for the rescue training last week, it was way better than expected and she was very accommodating to all of my complains about cold haha. Must admit it took a few days for me to recover, what an active training!!
