Fish Identification - Ecology Course
Most post dive chats revolve around what you have just seen underwater so learn how to identify fish and get more out of your dives with our Fish Identification Specialty.
Be the one with all the answers rather than the questions after a dive. By recognising fish family features, wherever you go in the world, you will have a starting point for identifying local fish. For example, Wrasse in New Zealand have a similar shape to Wrasse in the tropics - although the colours will be wildly different.

What You Learn
By focusing on certain features and characteristics of different species as well as where the fish are found and their behaviors, it makes identifying types of fish a lot easier.
After you have completed your online theory we invite you to join us for a dive up at Leigh on one of our Scuba Saturdays (or any of our dive trips where we have a Global Dive instructor attending) where you can put your new skills to good use. There will be some tasks set for you underwater which will be discussed after the dive. We suggest bringing a camera or slate to record information underwater if you have one.
