Waikato Wreck & PK Reef Day Trip

Wreck and Reef experience for divers qualified to dive to 30m or more. If the weather allows you will complete 1 dive on the Waikato Wreck and then 1 dive at the Poor Knights. If the sea conditions are too poor to anchor to the wreck, we will complete 2 dives at the Poor Knights.

The HMNZS Waikato is a decommissioned NZ Navy ship which have been purpose sunk for divers just outside the Tutukaka Marina.
Meet at Tutukaka Marina, M Pier at 8am on the morning of your dive trip. The Dive Now team will welcome you aboard Arrow where you will show your certification card and fill in the required paperwork. You must show proof of Wreck certification if you want to penetrate the wreck. A boat safety brief will be done before heading off to the Wreck.
Onboard the vessel there is water and hot drinks but lunch is not provided. The vessel has a toilet onboard, a hot water rinse hose, a dry area and a library of marine identification books so you can identify what you have seen on your dive.
The trip to the shipwreck takes approximately 15 minutes from Tutukaka Marina. Your dive day will consist of 1 dive on the wreck and 1 dive at the Poor Knights marine reserve.
The HMNZS Waikato wreck is a deep dive which require minimum certification levels. You must be certified as an Advanced (or be under taking training with a instructor) or above with a minimum of 15 logged dives and you must have dived in the last six months. The HMNZS Waikato is a large navy vessel specifically prepared for adventure diving before being sunk at diver friendly depths. Purpose cut access and exit points allow exploration of guns, bridges, control areas, helicopter hanger, engine rooms, cabins and crew areas, making this a great wrecks for exploring or training. All divers must dive within their certification limits.

- Full set of scuba gear - BCD, Regs, Dive Computer, Exposure suit, Mask, Fins, Boots
- 2 tanks
PLEASE NOTE:
Your trip deposit or full payment secures your space. Any outstanding balances are due a week before departure.
If you cancel your space on a trip within 7 days or less of departure you will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Generally trip payments once made are non-refundable, but most trips have a waiting list and we will do our best to find someone to take your space in the event you need to pull out. You can help us, and improve your chance of a refund, by finding your own replacement.
If a trip is cancelled by us due to weather or for safety reasons, a full refund or store credit will be given.
Trip pricing does not include transport. You will need to make your own way to the vessel departure point.
